CAN YOU TOP THIS?
Welcome to the latest edition of our popular “Can You Top This?” column, featuring the newest entry in the Service Industry News “Horror File. ”
This issue’s entry comes to us from Theo Verstraete, of The Pool Mechanic, in Hardwick, New Jersey.
“Got called in to fix this one earlier this year,” writes Theo.
“Customer called me up and said they had a party over the weekend, and when someone went to use the diving board, it ripped out of the deck. When I arrived the diving board jig was set with only between 1”-1.5” concrete.”
Yikes!
This is really, really bad! This kind of flop must be why most insurance policies for pool and spa service techs don’t include coverage for diving boards.
Other publications like to print lots of pretty pictures of beautiful pools, spas and well engineered installations.
At Service Industry News, we would rather go behind the scenes and take a closer look at the type of stuff our readers encounter everyday — cracked tiles, tree roots, spaghetti plumbing, rats in the heater, cars in the pool and more!
